Portland Saturday Market 6-2-2012

Portland Saturday Market has a lot to offer everyone.  With an unusually warm and dry spring we have been seeing more and more families out earlier this year compared to last year.  The nicer weather also highlights different aspects of the market.  This year having a reserved spot in the first row we are finding it to be a different experience than being on the fill in list and moving every weekend.  As with anything there are pros and cons to be had with both.  For Entwined Vines Jewelry, having a reserved spot is definitely assisting us in our scheduling and sanity.

It is always good when vendors think about children, even if they do not sell children's items.  In the photo above you see the hands of a little playing with a piece of scrap Viking Knit in our booth.  Children, especially boys are fascinated with our wire work.  Keeping a sample piece allows them to have a piece to bend and twist as they like, without worry of ruining a completed piece.

Signs at the market be they for sale or vendor signage are always interesting.
This sign belongs to the Kettle Corn booth.  It makes be giggle every time I read it.
Mostly because it is so very true.

Watching the crosswalk is always interesting.  It amazes me how many drivers are not considerate of the pedestrians crossing with the cross walk sign.  It equally appalls me how many pedestrians expect drivers to stop even if they do not have a walk sign.  Human nature can be an interesting pastime to watch in action.

Remember the hours of the Market are as follows.
Saturday:  10:00 am to 5:00 pm
Sunday:  11:00 am to 4:30 pm
