Max Track Entrance at Portland Saturday Market

Entering Portland Saturday Market from the Max tracks is just one of many starting points.  The market is broken up into two very close but separate locations that require the crossing of Natio Parkway.  Fortunately this crossing is made easy with a huge cross walk and the closing of two lanes on Natio during market hours.

The first entrance I am introducing this week, is the entrance to the market from the max tracks, as riding max is a fabulously easy way to visit the market without having to worry about driving or parking downtown.

The max tracks run both directions, providing easy access for arriving and departing Portland Saturday Market.   The above picture was taken with the max tracks at my back.  Front and center in the picture is a reader board pointing to the market.  You can see fencing in the right hand side of the photo, indicating the start of the market.  In the top of the photo between the arches, the sign spanned between the arches says Portland Saturday Market.

The biggest visual that lets you know you are entering Portland Saturday Market proper is the fountain that sits in Ankeny Square on the outside of the fence indicating the start of the Market.  The fence is new and usually taken down during the day on Sunday.  Even though the market is fenced on Saturday's it is a free event, any day it is open, to come and wander through unlike most fenced events held on the waterfront.

In the coming weeks I will be talking about and showing the visuals of the other entrances into the market.  We are artisans, so the entrances are many and varied and allows you the freedom to choose your own path.

Portland Saturday Market hours of operation:
Saturday 10:00 am to 5:00 pm
Sunday 11:00 am to 4:30 pm
