Pinks for Breast Cancer Awareness

As we come to the close of October, while everyone is thinking about Halloween, I am looking back at the last month and a half.  They have been busy months filled with hectic schedules, and many ups and downs. both personally and business wise.  So busy in fact that I did not participate in my usual fundraising for the Susan G. Komen foundation and their fall fundraiser the race for the cure.  Those pieces that Entwined Vines creates specifically for Breast Cancer Awareness donate a portion of each sale to support the research.

While I can't speak for other artisan's on Artfire, these two lovely collections we have been included in this month showcase a delightful array of soft and bold pinks.  Enjoy!

The Main Entrance to Portland Saturday Market

The main entrance to Portland Saturday Market is right at the cross walk on Natio Parkway, not to far from the Burnside bridge.  With signs on both sides of the street you can not miss it.

The red information booth set next to the cross walk is easy to spot.

With booths to the right and the main body of the market to the left.

These booths share space and are the ones closet to the fountain,
that identifies the end of the market on the right and the start of the park beyond that.

To the left of the red information booth is the gentle slope with which to start the market at.

Gift Shopping Tips for 2012

The holidays are once again, just around the corner and as I was jotting notes and revisiting past blogs I had written on the subject I realized I didn't have much new to add year.  Whether that is because I am set in my ways or that the world appears for all intents and purposes to be in the same economic upheaval as the last couple of years, I just do not know.

What I know is that beyond my normal advice, which can be found in the following three links,

Gift Shopping Tips

is that I am focusing more on the personal.  Not just in gifts, both handmade and not handmade, but relationships in general.  Why? you may be asking yourself.  The answer is simple, as the world remains in a precarious balance, I myself am putting a higher priority on maintaining my personal relationships.  While others are withdrawing from the world and maintaining relationships.   Though it is a challenge when the others are doing the opposite and withdrawing from the world, while I focus on keeping maintaining and building those same relationships.  It is an interesting phenomenon to behold. as we all move forward with living are lives while watching and waiting to see what unfolds.

Park and Fountain Entrances into Portland Saturday Market

To the right of the sidewalk entrance you will find a lovely fountain with the park extending out behind it, as well as the boardwalk continuing on the full length of the park.  This area of Portland Saturday Market offers multiple starting points and entrances with which you can start your exploration of the talented artisans to be found.

The ice cream stand provides a fun way to start your shopping experience.

This corner of the pavilion leads to the center of the market on this side.

Standing at the pavilion with your back to the market this is a partial view looking out.

Between the stage and the pavilion provides an entrance leading directly to the food court.

You wouldn't think that in the middle of October, who would be able to find such lovely shades of spring greens.  Except that is exactly what has been found.  A beautiful collection, with colors ranging the whole range of the green color spectrum, from artisan jewelry to handmade clothing and accessories.
